2021 - 22 New Scholar Application is Open

The application for new scholars opens March 1 and closes on April 1. Click here to apply.  Because of limited capacity, only students who meet the following criteria can apply:

  • Students currently in 2nd grade (will be in 3rd grade in Fall 2021)

  • Students currently in 4th and 6th grades (will be in 5th and 7th grades in Fall 2021) – limited space available

  • Siblings of current Greene Scholars in all grades

Career Day Goes Remote, January 2021

GSP is grateful for amazing volunteers who help to inspire our scholars about a future in STEM fields.  Area professionals run interactive workshops, and review resume-building and interview skills with our scholars.  Thank you too, to the many  STEM professionals who have helped us to create a video archive for scholars to understand your varied careers, and how you got there.  

Congratulations Graduating Seniors!

Congratulations to ALL of our 2020 graduating Seniors!!!  Our Greene Scholar family celebrates the end of a chapter for 14 scholars that began with us in elementary school, and will continue for at Cal Poly Pomona, Evergreen Valley College, Howard U., MIT, Morehouse College, Pomona College, SF State U., Spellman College, Southwestern U., Stanford U., UCSC, and U of Chicago.  We look forward to all your accomplishments to come.

EXTENDED OPEN: New Student Application 2020-21

Each year, GSP select a small group of high-achieving elementary and middle school students. Student must be of African ancestry from Bay Areas counties with an interest in science, math and technology.  Applicant must also currently be in 2nd-8th grade for the 2019-2020 school year. For grades 4th-8th, a very limited number of spaces are available.  Click here for applications for entrance into the program for 2020-21.  Deadline: March 23, 2020. 

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: GSP STEM Career Fair

Each April, GSP plans real-word STEM career experiences.  Calling all Volunteers to help inspire our scholars about all the varied contributions to be made in STEM fields.  We would like to introduce our students to members of the professional community that align with their area of interest, in hopes that these relationships will provide powerful inspiration and meaningful insight.  Click here to make a difference.

Our Mission:  The Dr. Frank S. Greene Scholars Program helps youth of African ancestry in San Francisco Bay Area communities successfully complete higher education in science, technology, engineering and/or math (STEM), and serve as positive role models and contributors to their communities.
